BLMT Market Vendor Code of Ethics — Full Version

The BLMT Marketplace is a mission-driven platform dedicated to uplifting Black learners, families, and community-centered businesses. All approved vendors must agree to follow the BLMT Vendor Code of Ethics to maintain trust, safety, and excellence across the marketplace.

1. Mission Alignment

Vendors must support the core mission of Black Learners Matter Too™ and contribute positively to the educational, cultural, and economic empowerment of Black communities.

2. Honesty & Transparency

Vendors must:

  • Provide accurate descriptions of all products and services
  • Maintain truthful pricing and promotional claims
  • Avoid deceptive marketing or misleading information

False claims or misrepresentation may result in removal from the platform.

3. Professional Conduct

Vendors must:

  • Communicate respectfully and promptly
  • Provide courteous customer service
  • Avoid harassment, discrimination, or inappropriate behavior
  • Interact with the BLMT team with professionalism at all times

4. Product & Service Safety

All products must be:

  • Safe
  • Legal
  • Properly labeled
  • Compliant with local, state, and federal regulations

Service providers must hold required licenses or certifications if applicable.

5. Youth Protection

Vendors who interact with youth or provide youth-centered products/services must:

  • Maintain safe, appropriate communication
  • Follow relevant safeguarding guidelines
  • Uphold the highest ethical standards

Youth vendors must have active guardian consent.

6. Cultural Respect & Anti-Discrimination

Vendors may not sell or promote:

  • Racist, hateful, or oppressive imagery
  • Cultural appropriation
  • Harmful stereotypes
  • Sexually explicit or adult content
  • Weapons or violent items
  • Illegal substances or paraphernalia

All vendor activity must reflect cultural respect.

7. Fulfilling Orders (Marketplace Vendors Only)

Vendors must:

  • Ship products on time
  • Provide tracking information when available
  • Deliver items as described
  • Respond to customer inquiries
  • Address issues respectfully and promptly

Repeated service failures may result in removal.

8. Brand Integrity

Vendors must not:

  • Claim false BLMT endorsement
  • Use BLMT logos or trademarks without permission
  • Present themselves as BLMT staff or representatives

9. Compliance with Marketplace Policies

Vendors must follow:

  • Marketplace Terms of Use
  • Vendor Guidelines
  • Safety and Licensing Requirements
  • Refund and dispute policies

Non-compliance may lead to suspension or removal.

10. Commitment to Community

Vendors must demonstrate:

  • Community-centered values
  • Ethical business practices
  • Respect for cultural diversity
  • A spirit of collaboration and professionalism

By submitting a Vendor Application, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to abide by the Vendor Code of Ethics. Violations may result in removal from the BLMT Marketplace.
